Renovation of La Samaritaine department store in Paris, France

Installing a water treatment unit in a confined urban space

At the start of 2017, REMEA set up a water treatment installation for the renovation of the celebrated department store, La Samaritaine, in Paris.

Groundwater on site showed traces of chlorine and metal compounds, along with suspended solids.

The water level had to be lowered to construct the underground elements, so REMEA handled the water treatment before it was pumped out into the Seine.

A process of decanting and filtering removed the pollutants. In addition, 120m of PVC pressure tubes were installed overhead to connect the treatment unit to the outflow, thereby adapting to the space constraints on site.
